Finding the right support in employment is an essential element in ensuring a person with disability achieves success in a role. It’s about finding the right ‘match’ ...but there is so much more to consider! In this webinar, we will share with you approaches, strategies and tips that can be utilised to achieve success on finding the right supports in employment, and in turn ensure more successful employment outcomes for people with disability employment role.

  • Characteristics of a good job coach
  • Steps in finding the right support
  • Supporting the job coach in their role
  • Approaches, strategies and tips
  • Individualised approach

• Recognise the risks in employment supporters not understanding the role

This webinar is for secondary school students with disabilities and their families. Supporters and allies are also welcome to attend.

We will be using the video meeting platform Zoom to host the webinar.

You will need access to:

· a computer or iPad/tablet or smart phone with internet access;
· speakers/sound

Community Resource Unit CRU in QLD,  Resourcing Inclusive Communities, an initiative of Family Advocacy (NSW) and Imagine More  (ACT) will work together on a new five year project called ‘School to Work’. 'School to Work’ aims to inspire, increase confidence and motivate students with disability to seek and find meaningful employment with the help and support of their family and community.
