Empowered Educators: Expert panel and workshop
All University of Adelaide staff are invited to the final Empowered Educators event for this year. This event will provide insights and inspiration for your teaching in 2025 and beyond.
The program includes and expert panel addressing the three themes of Enabling belonging, connectivity & the relationships which enhance learning, Designing and providing feedback for learning and Developing active, critical, deep thinkers. Colleagues will also share the progress of their teaching and learning enhancements.

Professor David Boud, Deakin Distinguished Professor and Co-Director, Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning, Deakin University
Professor Boud is the Foundation director of the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE) which undertakes and disseminates groundbreaking research on assessment and digital learning. Professor Boud’s research in higher education is internationally renowned and one of his current projects focuses on feedback and feedback literacy.
Professor Chi Baik, Professor of Higher Education, Melbourne Centre for the Study of Higher Education, University of Melbourne
Professor Baik’s research focuses on the varied influences on student learning particularly student mental wellbeing and was a co-lead on the Enhancing student wellbeing project which provides online resources for educators.
Professor Michael Henderson, Professor of Digital Futures in the Faculty of Education, Monash University
Professor Henderson’s research in the field of digital education is highly cited with a particular focus on assessment and feedback, wellbeing and creativity, and the effective use of technology in learning and teaching.

The Empowered Educators series is a new initiative designed to support teaching quality and the facilitation of student learning through a reflective cycle of evidence-based enhancements. Participants have engaged with three key themes: enabling belonging, connectivity & the relationships which enhance learning, designing and providing feedback for learning and developing active, critical, deep thinkers.Â
