EmpowerEd's Educator Wellness Symposium on "Human-Centered Leadership"
Event description
Please join us for EmpowerEd's Fall Educator Wellness Symposium this November 22, 2024 at the EmpowerEd offices at OpenGovHub in downtown Washington, DC.
The topic of this Symposium is "Human-Centered Leadership." We'll discuss how cultivating a staff culture based on relational trust and whole-person philosophies is the secret to unlocking the academic and SEL outcomes we need for students and families right now.
Our panelist will include three DCPS principals who have built strong relationships with their educator teams: LeVar Jenkins from Burroughs ES, Dr. Chunita Pilgrim from Burrville ES, and Jon Rolle from Garfield ES. They will share their strategies for cultivating trust, inspiring professionalism, and empowering educators to do their best work to support students.
After, we'll engage in small group working sessions to go deeper into the topics from the panel, and brainstorm solutions together. You'll share best practices with other educator wellness leaders who are making important systemic changes.
Schedule:
9:30am - Meet 'n Greet
10:00am - Presentation
10:30am - Panel Discussion
11am - Small Group Working Sessions
11:45am - Takeaways & Next Steps
Expect to leave the Symposium with a much richer understanding of both human-centered leadership and how to create lasting positive change in school communities. Can't wait to see you there!
