Join us for a fun and engaging session to learn more about issues important to you and your life in Australia.

Latin Stories Australia and IOM (International Organization for Migration) are collaborating to bring you the information you need to realize your full potential and to have some fun along the way.

The session will provide a complimentary lunch and refreshments and is a great opportunity to connect with others and learn together.

The session format will include an interactive presentation by IOM and an opportunity to ask questions to IOM’s migration professionals and play the award-winning board-games of “La sobremesa”.

Some of the topics we will cover include

• Understanding your workplace rights in Australia and visa conditions, and how to access reliable information and support.
• Post-graduation visa options and how to access reliable information and support.
• Gender equality and how things work in Australia
• What do you need to know around “consent” 

Language

• Part of the session will be delivered in English with translation to Spanish.
• The board-games section will be in Spanish and/or English (as you prefer).

Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre, 251 Faraday St, Carlton VIC

Saturday 12 of October

10:00 am to 3:00 pm

We have a maximum capacity of 40 participants. So, book your ticket as soon as possible.

This event is provided free of charge, however, to secure your attendance we request a $5 deposit to plan for the material and food. At the event, please indicate if you wish to receive your deposit returned or to donate it to contribute to the costs of hosting the event. 

We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to participate!

¡Únete a nosotros para una sesión divertida donde aprenderás más sobre algunos temas que pueden interesarte si estás viviendo en Australia!

Latin Stories Australia y la International Organisation for Migration (IOM) están colaborando juntas con el objetivo de brindarte toda la información que necesitas para alcanzar tu máximo potencial en tu experiencia migratoria. 

La sesión ofrecerá un almuerzo gratuito, y será una excelente oportunidad para conectarte con otros y aprender juntos.

El formato de la sesión incluirá una presentación interactiva de la OIM, la oportunidad de hacer preguntas a los profesionales de migración de la OIM, y la posibilidad de jugar a la “La sobremesa”, un juego de educación y concientización comunitaria que fue premiado por “People's Choice” TMRWW en 2023

Algunos de los temas que trataremos incluyen:

• Entender tus derechos laborales en Australia y las condiciones de tu visa, así como cómo acceder a información confiable y apoyo.
• Opciones de visa post-graduación y cómo acceder a información confiable y apoyo.
• Igualdad de género y cómo funcionan las cosas en Australia.
• ¿Qué debes saber sobre el consentimiento?
• Idioma.

Parte de la sesión se impartirá en inglés con traducción al español. La sección de juegos de mesa será en español y/o inglés (según prefieras).
