Menarche is a powerful time of transformation and change in the lives of our young people. Our Hormonal and Biological processes are changing, bodies are growing, Emotions are heightened and Relationships change and deepen.

Menarche is a time of incredible change and can bring up wonderful opportunities to lean in and start curious conversations to support this journey.

Lack of comprehensive menstrual education means significant numbers of children and young people are not equipped to manage their period in a way that enables their full participation in sport, work, school and life and can also reduce menstrual taboos and stigma.

For some young people, the stigma and emotional stress associated with menstruation is significant. Children and young people describe shame, self-consciousness, feelings of being silenced, fears of leaking or bullying, enduring discomfort, and the panic that comes with the possibility that others might be able to see products and know they are menstruating.

Evidence suggests that positive experiences of menstruation come from having access to high quality information and lead to improved quality of life over our children's lives.

SO WHAT IS A LUNAR BOX and why do you need one???

Lunar boxes are unique to the person that creates it, we will be offering lots of ideas and supports to be able for you to craft one unique to you and your child's needs!

It is designed to support cyclical self care - support for wellbeing that embodies not only the bleeding part of our cycle but also acknowledges and provides self care practices for our other 3 weeks of Infradian rhythm (hormonal cycle).
