Carers and Disability Link and the Department of Human Services invite 12-25year old's to join us for a Wellness Workshop. Including information from service providers for mental health and wellbeing, sound healing, drumming, aromatherapy and connection.

What to expect on the day

A group vibrational sound bath meditation experience will set the scene for the day, thereafter participants will break out into smaller groups and participate in a choice of three concurrently run workshops (listed below), all involving mindfulness and to exploring a holistic approach to self-regulation.

Concurrent workshop 1

Participants will sit or lay down (yoga mats, blankets and pillows supplied) and listen to the tranquil sounds created from crystal bowls, gongs, chimes, bells, Tibetan bowls, and rain sticks all with their own unique vibration that resonate in different ways. This meditation experience will often bring calm to the body.

Concurrent workshop 2

A tailored aromatherapy workshop where the participants will choose to make a face spray of their choice using all natural ingredients and learn about different essential oils and the benefits they have on our mind, body and soul.

Concurrent workshop 3

Learn about the vibration, rhythm and sound of drumming and the calming effects drumming can have on the body. Small groups will explore and play with handmade drums. Participants will work with the facilitator to make and decorate their own musical percussion which can be used to regulate the body by way of repetitive sound.

There will be several mental health providers and community based services attending the workshop to have a presence and available opportunities for participants to connect with on the day.

All participants will receive a gift bag with information for Mental Health Services in the Adelaide Hills area, and aromatherapy roller blend, a stress ball, and other small items that may be of benefit to their mental wellbeing and access to services.

This workshop is completely free and includes a light lunch for attendees.
