Join us for

EMPOWher | EAST

In partnership with Eastgate Christian Centre, Tearfund is hosting an Empowher women’s event in support of the new Mums and Bubs project in Indonesia. Come along to hear two unique, female voices share their wisdom around the theme: Words we clothe ourselves in.

FRIDAY, 16 JULY: 7pm – doors open | 7.30pm start

Grab your girlfriends for a women's evening of mingling, sweet treats, giveaways and a clothes swap to refresh your heart, mind and wardrobe!

Presenting...

Jo has a Master of Science in Sex Therapy and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling. She has had 15 years’ experience working in sexual health, through education and counselling. Jo has a private therapeutic practice specialising in problematic sexual behaviours, sexual dysfunction and relationship breakdown due to betrayal.   She is also the Research and Training Lead for The Light Project.
Kelly Burgess is a long-time member of Eastgate, graphic designer and currently the Church Relationship Manager at Tearfund New Zealand. Having recently returned from Nashville Tennessee, Kelly will share her recent and raw journey toward understanding self-worth – the wrestle, tears and struggle to believe truly and deeply in how much God values his daughters.
Free your wardrobe and donate your pre-loved garments to an amazing cause, and go home with some something new (to you).

Bring your gorgeous, preloved women's clothes, bags, shoes and accessories* to Eastgate Christian Centre (5 Ben Lomond Cres, Pakuranga):

  • On Sun 11 July between 10:20-10:45am - please drop off at the Information-Centre.
  • From Mon 12th - Fri 16th July between 9am-3pm - please drop off at the church office.
  • If you can throw in a few hangers that would be a huge help.
  • Please check that all items are free from stains, stretches or tears, making sure it is something you would be happy to give to a friend.
  • While we would love to organise the items prior to the event starting, you can still bring some on the night if you need to.

Guests do not have to donate items to take part in the clothes swap and even if you can’t make the night, you can clear your closets and donate items to the evening!

It’s all for a great cause supporting vulnerable mums and babies in Indonesia. What a treat to be a blessing to others, and to have fun!

Left over items will be donated to other charity shops.

*Please do not donate undergarments of any kind, nor any men's or children's clothing for this clothes swap opportunity.

Seats are limited, so get your tickets today and bring your girlfriends to Empowher East!
