Empty Bowls 2024
Event description
EMPTY BOWLS THINK GLOBALLY ACT LOCALLY
"Empty Bowls” is an international project to fight hunger . Recognised worldwide for the contribution to local community.
Wherever an Empty Bowls event is held, the basic concept remains the same: In exchange for a donation—participants get a meal and a bowl to keep to remind them of hunger.
Empty Bowls events educate people and provide a means to create positive and lasting change in their own communities.
This is our 4th Annual Empty Bowl event and we would love you to be part of this growing community .
The event previously held at Dust Temple in Currumbin has raised in excess of $50,000 for the homeless and hungry in our community . We plan to continue the support and awareness on the 3rd of August 2024, 5pm-8pm ,holding the event in our new venue , the M’Arts Precinct in Murwillumbah.
The monies raised will go directly to Agape Outreach Inc who do the most amazing job feeding our homeless, helping them with haircuts , laundry ,finding them shelter , helping them apply for jobs etc. .Agape and their volunteers work in our community between Southport and Byron ,
We currently have 52 potters on board ,6 amazing restaurants providing and serving a simple meal suitable to be eaten with a fork or spoon in a bowl.
Behind the scenes Jarrad, Tom and Sabine continue to support us with graphics and capturing the event. The M’Arts Team are ready to welcome us.
The success of Empty Bowls has always been that the event is simple and it is a100% donation of time and product whether it’s bowls, food, venue , photographers , printers and volunteers on the day .
We hope to see you there ...
