Coastal Plants, Close Encounters

Fourteen species of low-growing coastal native food plants along the pathways of the labyrinth will be our subjects for up close and personal observations, studies and sensorial experiences as we immerse ourselves in time and life at their level and the environment in which they thrive.

We’ll engage in what Phil Cousineau refers to as ‘notitia’ - the practice of noticing everyday beauty with the eyes of the soul, those things around us that we seldom give time or thought to. Be prepared to awaken your senses!. Each activity for this event is designed to renew our sense of awe and wonder.

The labyrinth sits on a rise overlooking the coastal dunes and the waters of St Vincent Gulf. The site was chosen because of its proximity to the dunes and the opportunity to showcase species not normally accessible.

The labyrinth is located, midway between Military Rd and Lady Gowrie Drive, in Roy Marten Reserve, Taperoo. There is a carpark at both entrances.

Please bring a folding chair and wear clothing appropriate for the weather.
