INVISIBLE ICONIC ENDO CIRCLE - ENDOMETRIOSIS SURGERY: Ablation vs. Excision
Event description
The gold-standard for endometriosis diagnosis and treatment is laparoscopic surgery.
However, not all surgery is equal.
The majority of endometriosis surgery performed by OB-GYNs is ablation surgery which burns/ablates/cauterises endometriosis tissue leaving the root of the disease behind. This can cause myriad issues and ongoing problems post-surgery. To become an expert excision surgeon, doctors must pay for their own training and the Australian Gynaecological & Endoscopy Society (AGES) only requires surgeons perform a minimum of ten surgeries before they can ablate or excise extrapelvic and deep infiltrating endometriosis from a range of organs - including non-reproductive.
Come join Alexandra Mitchell, Creator and Host of the Invisible Iconic Podcast and Founder of the Invisible Iconic Endo Circle to discuss Surgery: Ablation vs. Excision. All the information presented at this event is collated from reputable international resources and Dr. Abhishek Mangeshikar from Endometriosis India is the expert guest for the accompanying live webinar a week before the event. Dr. Mangeshikar is an expert advanced laparoscopic endometriosis excision surgeon and neuropelveologist.
The endo circle is educational and interactive and attendees will get a chance to share their experiences and questions.
