The financial health of our for-purpose sector is important as a thriving charity sector is critical to the future wellbeing of Australia. But current economic conditions aren’t favourable and the volatile markets present a double risk: declining endowment values and decreased investment income – not a positive outlook for a sector that our people, communities and government rely heavily on.

In this webinar, our presenters will discuss and explore issues around how to use endowment funds responsibly during this period, best practice investment policies, alignment to strategic objectives and mission and spending and use restrictions.

Jenny Wheatley is the CEO of the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation and Cambooya Pty Ltd.  These entities support the multigenerational Vincent Fairfax Family Office with financial, investment and philanthropic advice and services. Jenny is a Chartered Accountant and specialised in litigation support and forensic accounting for almost twenty years prior to accepting the invitation to lead the Fairfax family office in 2012.

Luke Branagan is the Director of Philanthropic Services at JBWere. After a successful career establishing the community program at ASIC and managing the MLC Community Foundation as part of the National Australia Bank Corporate Responsibility Leadership Team, Luke joined the JBWere Philanthropic Services team in March 2015. Beyond supporting its clients with tailored governance and strategy advice, Luke has been pivotal in the development and execution of JBWere’s Socially Responsible Investment framework (ESG integration, ethical investing and impact investment).

Sue Dahn is a Financial Advisor and Non-Executive Director at Pitcher Partners. Sue brings her NFP and private clients at Pitcher Partners more than twenty-five years' experience providing sound, well researched investment advice in all economic conditions.
