EnergyAustralia Yallourn Mine Tour

In preparation for Yallourn’s closure, EnergyAustralia is offering the opportunity to peek behind the fence to view the Yallourn Mine and learn what the vision for the future after 2028 will be.

Join a minibus tour of the mine and get a first-hand view of current operations, and learn more about current and future rehabilitation works. The tour will be narrated by someone from the mine rehabilitation team and give you the opportunity to ask questions.

Meet at the Yallourn Power Station Gatehouse on Eastern Rd. Follow Eastern Rd until you get to the Yallourn entry gate and park in the carpark to the left. The Gatehouse is located at the end of Eastern Rd, Gatehouse. Public transport is not available, but taxis can be booked from Moe train station. There is one free electric vehicle charger available in the carpark. It cannot be booked.

Important information before you book:

• Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour start time.

• Please bring a water bottle to keep you hydrated during the tour.

• A toilet is available at the entrance to the site. No toilet facilities will be available during the tour.

• This is an active industrial workplace. For everyone’s safety, no children under 16 are allowed and all participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian.

• All participants must participate in a 5-minute site induction prior to entry.

• All participants must have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.00 and must not be affected by any drugs, whether illicit or prescribed, that could impair safe participation.

• All participants must be able to enter and exit a minibus without assistance and be able to walk on uneven surfaces.

• All participants must wear sturdy, closed toed shoes, long pants/trousers, long-sleeved top.

• Hard hats, hi-vis vests and safety glasses will be supplied and must be worn by all participants.

Failure to adhere to any of the above conditions will result in participants being denied entry.
