Enhancing Equitable Access to Shelter (EEAS)
Description
This one-day, in-person workshop is a chance for Queensland refuges and DFV networks to explore what equitable, consistent access to safety could look like across the state. Together with TACSI, we’ll build on what’s already working, surface new ideas, and prioritise opportunities for meaningful change—all grounded in local knowledge, cultural insight and practice wisdom.
We’re inviting refuge workers, leaders and refuge network representatives, who want to help strengthen crisis accommodation pathways for victim survivors and their children. Your experiences and expertise are central to this work. Whether you’ve already shared insights through earlier conversations or are just stepping in, this workshop is designed to be inclusive, practical and relational, supporting a diverse range of voices to be heard.
By the end of the day, we aim to have a refined set of ideas ready for testing, and a pathway for continued involvement as the project moves into the next phase. Most importantly, we hope you leave feeling connected, valued and energised about shaping improvements that will have real impact for victim-survivors across Queensland. We encourage broad participation—every perspective strengthens the work.
