Joined by guitarists Andrew Blanch and Vladimir Gorbach, Ensemble Offspring is touring six regional NSW/ACT and urban locations to reignite two classics from the ’90s by iconic Australian composers Peter Sculthorpe and Nigel Westlake alongside five new commissions from Jessica Wells, Felicity Wilcox and Robert Davidson reflecting on the cultural, climate and political situations Australia finds itself in today. With video by Blue Mountains artists Peachey and Mosig, The Surge is a multilayered feast of music, ideas, lessons from the past and – with a little luck – hope for the decade ahead!
