About: Step into an evening of exquisite chamber music with Ensemble Q, one of Australia’s most acclaimed ensembles. Clarinetist Paul Dean, harpist Emily Granger, and cellist Trish Dean weave a rich tapestry of sound in a program spanning French impressionism, Russian lyricism, and bold contemporary Australian voices.
From the delicate colours of Debussy’s Sonata for Cello and Harp, to the rare pairing of clarinet and cello in Gliere’s Duos, to Elena Kats-Chernin’s haunting Blue Silence, this concert offers an intimate and deeply moving exploration of timbre and storytelling. New works by Kate Moore and Gilad Cohen bring fresh perspectives to this unusual and captivating trio combination.
A rare chance to hear this world-class ensemble in the intimacy and warm acoustic of Palmwoods Memorial Hall.
