About the authors:

Shara Curlett grew up surrounded by stories, from her mum’s bedtime reads to her dad’s whimsical space adventures. She wrote her first ‘novels’ at ten and rediscovered her passion for writing in 2016, completing two full-length manuscripts. A lifelong fantasy fan, she now writes to spark imagination in young readers, believing creativity fosters resilience. Shara lives on Auckland’s Hibiscus Coast with her husband, two kids, two dogs, and a dragon (bearded, but she’s still claiming it).

At about the age of eight, Belinda Murrell began writing stirring tales of adventure, mystery and magic in hand-illustrated exercise books. As an adult, she combined two of her great loves — writing and travelling the world — and worked as a travel writer, journalist and public relations consultant. Now, inspired by her own three children, Belinda is an award-winning, internationally published children’s author with a history of writing in her family that spans over 200 years.
