Entre Mucho Machismo Hay Pocos Machos is a dance theater work that tells the story of a Queer Mexican folklórico dancer on a journey toward self-love amid a romantic relationship with a closeted fellow dancer. The work is structured like a traditional romantic dramedy telenovela - boy meets boy, boy falls in love with boy, boy loses self, boy loses boy (but finds himself) - and takes place in the folklorico community, where normative masculinity continues to be performed and policed.
Accessibility: Dance Mission Theater is located on the second floor and is accessible by an elevator or approximately 20 stairs (there is a handrail). If you require wheelchair / limited mobility seating, please choose "wheelchair seating" when picking your ticket. For other access needs, please email info@dancemission.com and we will do our best to accomodate.
Parking and public transportation: Dance Mission Theater is located directly across the street from the 24/Mission BART station and is on MUNI Lines 12, 14, 49, 48, 67, and 48. If you do decide to drive, give yourself time to find parking as it can be difficult. The closest parking lot is at 21/Bartlett Streets, about a 5 min walk from the theater.
