Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Showcase (Powered by the Diploma in Innovation at UTS)
Event description
In July 2022, 60 UTS students will explore 4 different entrepreneurial ecosystems, focused on Sydney Startup Hub, Western Sydney, at the national scale and international benchmarks. The students are guided by complex ecosystem briefs given to them by our industry partners, Investment NSW and Spark Festival.
Teams first make sense of what the scope and boundaries of the ecosystem are, followed by identifying and interviewing key stakeholders in their ecosystem. Over the three weeks, they document the history of the ecosystem's emergence, map its current state, and (perhaps most importantly) propose interventions by which the ecosystem can be improved in a more deliberate manner.
These presentations and the resulting final reports will become part of the students' portfolio and an asset to the benefit of the public, especially in relation to innovation policy. Reports from 2021 about Tech Central are available on zenodo, and the reports from 2020 about southern Sydney are available by email to Martin.
The work presented is from a core subject from the Diploma in Innovation at TD School called 94663 Navigating Entrepreneurial Ecosystems. Visit tdi.uts.edu.au for more information.
