Mike Wallis - Writer & Director. CEO of Silver Light Studios.
Director Mike Wallis began his career in a video store in Queenstown, New Zealand. At age 21 he moved to Wellington and made his first short film starring Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords). Mike has 22 years in the NZ Film Industry with 10 years at Weta Digital in various production roles; Facilities department, Motion Capture, Previs Department & Animation Manager. Credits include; Lord of the Rings Trilogy, King Kong, iRobot, The Day the Earth Stood Still & Avatar.
He is writer & director of Good for Nothing (feature film). Supported by the Weta Group it received theatrical release in the US along with other acclaimed reviews from the New York Times, Variety and the Hollywood Reporter.
Mike is also the Founder and CEO of SETNZ (Screen Experience Trust NZ) and is the Creative Director of Silverlight Studios and is aiming to create New Zealand’s first purpose-built, large-scale film studio.
Kahli Scott- Manager of Film Queenstown Lakes.
Kahli Scott is a writer who was born in Canada, raised in Australia, and now lives in New Zealand.
She is the Manager for Film Queenstown Lakes, the in-Council film office for Queenstown Lakes District Council.
With 10 years' experience supporting the creative, media and entertainment industries, Kahli helped establish and now manages Film Queenstown Lakes as well as co-managing Film Otago Southland, which supports the screen industry in the wider region.
Kahli is passionate about the role screen and the creative industries play in economic and community development and mental well-being.
