Guide: Amy Degenhart, LFRAIA, Architect & Developer
Join architect-developer Amy Degenhart for a guided footpath tour through two of the Gold Coast’s most innovative urban infill projects—Envi Micro Urban Village and the neighbouring Garden Terraces. These award-winning developments are redefining how density, design, and community can coexist in a region traditionally shaped by low-rise, car-dependent sprawl.
Envi Micro Urban Village is a compact, community-oriented housing model that challenges conventional ideas of scale, while offering high-quality, energy-efficient living. Next door, the Garden Terraces demonstrate how thoughtful design can integrate multiple dwellings into existing neighbourhoods while maintaining privacy, greenery, and a strong sense of place. Both projects offer a compelling vision for more diverse, attainable housing within established urban areas.
Led by the architect behind their design and delivery, this walking tour provides an opportunity to learn how policy, planning, and creativity can come together to unlock smarter housing solutions. Participants will gain insight into the practical realities of infill development and the role small-scale projects can play in shaping more resilient and inclusive cities.
The tour will begin at 2:00 PM sharp, departing from 20A Lenneberg Street in Southport. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early.
