Course Details

Remake Studio is a 8-week guided design and upcycling course for people who want more than basic sewing skills. This is for those ready to develop creative autonomy and transform their wardrobe with intention.

You won’t just learn techniques. You’ll learn how to create like a designer.

Over six weeks, you will learn:

  • Clarify your personal creative vision and aesthetic direction

  • Build mood boards and design concepts

  • Plan your projects with circularity, longevity and wear in mind

  • Strengthen core repair skills

  • Develop a toolkit of fabric manipulation techniques (tucks, pleats, piping, free machining)

  • Experiment with embellishment, colour, and surface design

  • Explore fit modifications (darts, waist adjustments, structural changes)

  • Learn zip and closure techniques

  • Design and complete a personal upcycling project

Throughout this course, you will develop an understanding of your role within the fashion system and what it means to design with intention. We will build technical confidence through sampling and structured exercises before moving into your final upcycling project.

Sustainability our the baseline. By learning to redesign and extend the life of your garments, you reclaim creative agency and step into full ownership of what you wear.

You will leave with:

  • A finished upcycled garment

  • Practical design and alteration skills

  • Increased technical sewing confidence

  • A clearer creative identity

  • And a supportive creative community

Prerequisite: Participants must have basic sewing skills (e.g. can confidently thread a machine and sewing basic straight seams) or have completed our Back to Basics workshop.
