BYO

ephemera (n.)

late 14c., originally a medical term, from Medieval Latin ephemera (febris) "(fever) lasting a day," from fem. of ephemerus, from Greek ephemeros "daily, for the day," also "lasting or living only one day, short-lived," from epi "on" (see epi-) + hēmerai, dative of hēmera "day," from PIE *Hehmer"day." Sense extended 17c. to short-lived insects (Modern Latin ephemera musca) and flowers; general sense of "thing of transitory existence" is first attested 1751. Compare Greek ephemeroi -literally "creatures of a day."

Rose Marin and Pip Buining will be presenting Ms Constance Spry’s Letter Writing Service in the gardens- where audiences can have their thoughts of the moment translated via old fashioned typewriters and receive a letter to take home. https://www.facebook.com/Ms-Constance-Sprys-Letter-Writing-Service-582650181884356/

CHARM OF FINCHES

Melbourne sister duo Charm of Finches make haunted exquisite tunes about love, grief and whispering trees with tight sibling harmonies and chamber folk sound. Citing influences as Sufjan Stevens, Gillian Welch, Danish artist Agnes Obel and First Aid Kit, the sisters' seamless harmonies are a wonderous thing. Their Australian Music Prize nominated 2019 sophomore album "Your Company" won Best Folk Album in the Independent Music Awards.

They are releasing their third full length album through New York City-based label AntiFragile (Elizabeth, Tia Gostelow), and hit Castlemaine to showcase their new songs on the upcoming album.

PACHAMAMA was formed when Canberra-based Cicilia Kemezys and Jorge Bontes expanded their successful duo to include Marisol Pacheco and Tony Hunter.
After playing music for many years, this is the first time all four have merged to create an original display of traditional music of Latin America, exploring the possibilities of four-part vocal harmony and bringing many exotic multi-instrumental combinations including Flutes, Pan pipes, Charango, Mandolin, Bouzouki, Guitar, Cuatro, The Cuban Tres and Percussion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgjcplD70XM
