Epic Failures: How to Regain Your Balance
Event description
Part lecture, part discussion.
Oops! Stepped in it. Forgot to do the thing. Winged a thing that definitely should not have been winged. Let my mouth write the check. Failed to write the check. Failed. Failure.
An ugly word that results in even uglier feelings. But does it have to? Hard as we try, as good as we are at remembering or communicating or doing things, not all failure can be avoided. What do we do with those moments? Let them derail the plans and darken the day? Let the resulting emotions brew and fester, eventually harming relationships? Or can we transform them into teachable moments?
Join us for an open, and hopefully enthusiastic, discussion of how to change the perception of failure and how to turn past stumbles into touchstones that drive future success.
Our Presenter
The opening line for Kim's (@Kim_Rei) bio in another space reads, "Kimberly Rei does her best work in the places that don't exist… the in-between places where imagination defies reality." Those words suit her path in kink as easily as they do in publishing. Kim is an author and editor. She is a submissive Leather Doll to her Owner, Miki Rei. She is a pet, a steel slut, and an explorer. She is one of the producers for devour., a regular event held at Deviance in Tampa Bay. She runs the monthly Zoom roundtable, The Heart of It, gathering people from around the country to chat about topics near and dear to our journeys. She seeks to help those in community empower themselves and each other through guided conversations and shared experiences.
Kim is also an educator. Her favorite quote is from Socrates: "Wisdom begins in wonder." She holds these words sacred and to that end, strives to find the places between traditional workshops and skill sharing opportunities. She is passionate about communication, consent, and forming healthy habits for individuals and dynamics. She creates space to explore other ways to consider topics, to look sideways at what is known, and to flex imaginative muscles in kink considerations.
Kim is delighted to walk beside her Owner and Wife, Miki Rei. She is also delighted when her Owner pens descriptions she can heist entirely. Such as:
"Miki and Kim are a 24-7, D/s, Owner/LeatherDoll dynamic who each bring decades of practical, applicable BDSM and teaching experience fueled and supported by their over 20 years together through a variety of evolving environments and dynamics. They both share a genuine passion for accessible education and contextual storytelling, and find great joy in applying these lifelong loves in service to their community. While each brings their individual perspective to the table, their shared exploration and passion for all things kink creates a wondrous and sustainable balance in their lives, partnership, and dynamic."
