EPIT Transitions Research Presentation
Event description
You are an important part of the ecosystem that will transform how our young people move seamlessly from school to further study or meaningful and productive career pathways.
Please join us for the presentation of our research report Empowering Our Youth: career processes, strategies and practices that enable successful career transitions undertaken and written by Dr Lynette Reid, Education Researcher, AUT, Auckland.
The report offers valuable insights into the strategies employed by careers advisors to empower and equip students with the tools necessary for making informed decisions about their post-school pathways.
This research was designed to contribute to goals for the ‘transition’ initiative by centring practices, processes, and strategies of successful career transitions from South Auckland secondary schools, from the perspective of the careers and transition staff.
Dr Lynette Reid, Ngāti Konohi, is a career education researcher who has over 20 years’ experience in the NZ careers field. A published author, Lynette’s research includes areas such as employability, work integrated/related learning, professional/career/cultural identity, and career transitions.
