ERTHWRX24 is an inaugural multi-day community event involving a series of panel-talks, exhibitions, presentations, performances, installations and workshops presented during National Science Week 2024 . The program focus will be on Environmentalism delivered through the nexus of science, arts, culture, social, historical, geo-political and activist discourse.

Project Description

Genevieve Carroll is a multi-disciplinary artist creating unique absurd and playful artistic environments to convey lightness and positivity on the relationships of themes with self, mortality, landscape, and interior eccentric spaces.
Carroll's artwork is repeatedly informed by her passionate love of 20th-century literature and poetry and has seen this as her inspiration for the past two decades, creating an interior/exterior narrative called The Wattle Room, likened to a diary where each of her exhibitions is portrayed as chapters of her life.

Teaching at the CORRIDOR project enabled Carroll to pass knowledge on and convey the importance of endangered species of flora and fauna, particularly the birdlife, and the beneficial beauty that drawing can be in an interactive fun way by using the collaborative Surrealist drawing technique called 'The Exquisite Corpse'.

The group gained a terrific vision of what recycling can be as a result of absurd exaggeration in their compositions and collaborative depictions of birdlife taking them into large-scale drawings as the outcome.

Bill Moseley is an Australian artist known for his love and expertise in analogue and digital photography. Moseley has had a lifetime of working in fine art photography with national and international residences and has his artwork in Australian and American collections. He works in multi-disciplines and is a passionate advocate for darkroom processes favoring Wet Plate Collodion and photogravure in black and white format.

This expertise and vision led him to co-partner with Genevieve Carroll and establish Hill End Press NSW Australia in 2005. Here he developed his skills further by becoming a master printmaker and printing for other artists etching editions and artists' books.
Moseley thrives on the curiosity of new projects and intense high-processed base methods in photography where in his imaginative way with portraiture, landscapes, and seascapes develops outstanding evocative images.

Moseley is influenced by surrealism and early 20th-century painters, that portray poetic, theatrical, and ambiguous expressions of the human condition in these environments, not so much the human figure but the feeling of humanity's response to their natural surroundings.

For Moseley to be able to pass on the knowledge of these traditional methods of photography at the Corridor project produced an understanding to the workshop participants that the legacy of these historical techniques are still valuable today for contemporary photography.
