The Tamworth Domestic & Family Violence Committee (TDFVC) in partnership with the eSafety Commissioner would like to offer local representatives, employees and associated agencies a rare opportunity to undertake FREE professional development in Recognising and Responding to Online and Tech Facilitated Abuse
This is suitable for
- domestic and family violence service providers and support workers
- legal or justice response services including law enforcement, legal and court staff, mediators and advocacy agencies
- crisis response services including welfare and emergency housing services
- healthcare services including hospital social workers, nurses, allied health services and disability workers
- therapeutic services including counsellors, group therapists and complementary therapists
- youth support services including youth workers, local councils and community engagement services
- settlement services including migrant resource engagement workers and bilingual workers
- educators and students in relevant fields.
What this session covers
1. The role of eSafety and how we help.
2. How technology is used as a tool for abuse, including:
- online harassment and intimidation
- stalking – using surveillance programs, apps and tracking devices
- hacking and impersonation
- sharing online (or threatening to share) intimate images and videos without the consent of the person shown.
3. Strategies to identify and address risks including:
- red flags with devices and platforms
- misuse of online accounts.
4. Online safety resources to support your work.
