Description

The NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) and Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) have entered a new phase. Following the significant Rule changes that commenced on 1 July 2026, and with the NSW Government's broader Energy Security Safeguard reform process approaching key milestones, the policy and market landscape is evolving rapidly. The latest changes expand opportunities across several activities, update eligibility requirements, and reshape how participants engage with the schemes.

This networking and professional development event will unpack the most important developments affecting scheme participants, energy retailers, technology providers, aggregators, certificate traders, regulators and policy makers. Attendees will hear directly from government, including a keynote address from DCCEEW Secretary Anthony Lean, alongside market experts and industry leaders on the implementation of the new Rules, emerging opportunities across the ESS and PDRS, and what the next wave of policy reform could mean for the market.

Why attend?

  • Understand the practical implications of the 1 July 2026 ESS and PDRS Rule changes.

  • Hear the latest on the NSW Government's Energy Security Safeguard reform agenda and expected policy outcomes.

  • Explore new and emerging opportunities across energy efficiency, electrification, flexibility and peak demand reduction.

  • Gain insights into evolving certificate markets and the factors shaping supply, demand and investment decisions.

  • Hear from regulators and industry participants on compliance, delivery and market challenges.

  • Network with the businesses and policy makers driving the next generation of energy savings and peak demand reduction activities.

The seminar will feature keynote presentations, market analysis and interactive panel discussions examining how the ESS and PDRS can continue to deliver energy savings, reliability and emissions reductions while supporting NSW's energy transition. The event will focus on practical insights, informed debate and the strategic issues that will shape the schemes' future direction.
