Would you like fruit trees but just can’t find the space?  Or perhaps your garden seems to be shrinking and you just want it to be more productive?

It’s a problem for many of us in the city. We’re often challenged by finding a free space for a fruit tree, especially in smaller gardens. Typically we have high fences or walls, narrow spots and plenty of house but not much open space for an orchard let alone a single fruit tree with its spreading canopy.

Espalier training fruit trees is all about becoming very productive in the smallest of spots, with fruit flat out and fabulous.

At this class, you'll learn how to select the right trees for excellent growth and harvests in the subtropics; and  how to plant, train and nurture fruit trees like apples, figs, plums and nectarines, so they give you loads of fruit in a small, narrow space, flat against wires or trellis.

It's the ancient art of Espalier and its gaining popularity because it can be so successful if you get  few things right.  You'll need the variety of tree  that's right for your area. You'll need to give your trees the right nutrition as an organic grower and you'll need to get the pruning techniques correct so you train your trees to shape without removing the fruiting ability.

I've espaliered for many decades with great success, and I'd love to share with you just how to do it in this hands-on class. You'll be able to start right away at home and you'll have your own fruitful abundance in a very short time.
