Esther Swift explores ritual, connection, isolation, and the natural world in her performance with pedal harp and voice.
A prolific, boldly innovative harpist, composer and singer, Esther works across genres as diverse as classical chamber music and free improvisation, and writes for ensembles large and small.
She studied at Edinburgh’s St Mary’s Music School and the Royal Northern College of Music, as well as with harp pioneer Catriona McKay. She has received numerous prestigious commissions and featured in many international collaborations.
Likened to Kate Bush, Anna Meredith and Björk, her style is influenced by her love of jazz, minimalism and dance music alongside her scottish folk background.
She has travelled to Vietnam, New Zealand, Malaysia, Mongolia, and beyond with her music, and shared international, music lead collaborations with musicians and other artists around the world.
She has recently been commissioned by Celtic Connections, Chamber Music Scotland, Manchester Jazz festival and The Edwin Morgan Trust and performed internationally with her band Emergence Ensemble.
Esther's debut solo studio album Expectations of a Lifetime was released in June 2024.

Harp2Harp is an enchanting Adelaide duo weaving the heavenly sounds of two harps and two female voices. Acclaimed pedal harpist/soprano Emma Horwood and award winning singer/songwriter and folk harpist Visnja.
With their two different harps and contrasting vocal timbres, Harp2Harp blend classical finesse with contemporary and world music flavours. If you love the melodic and evocative work of Kate Bush, Enya and Loreena McKennit, you will love Harp2Harp.
Emma Horwood is a renowned South Australian harpist and soprano who studied at the Elder Conservatorium. Presenting critically acclaimed concerts in a variety of styles including sell out shows in the Adelaide Fringe, she is a also a member of vocal quintet Syntony and directs the SA Celtic Harp Orchestra. Her five CDs have featured on ABC Classic FM.
Visnja is an award-winning singer/songwriter drawing inspiration from Celtic, Balkan and contemporary folk sounds. Performing highlights include 9 Network’s Carols by Candlelight, the National Folk Festival in Canberra and numerous major events and productions around Australia.
