Ethical Landlords Online Resource Launch
Description
Ethical Landlords Initiative Launch
Exploring how property owners and faith communities can help make renting more affordable and secure.
Rising housing costs are placing increasing pressure on households across NSW. For many people, finding and keeping an affordable, secure rental home is becoming increasingly difficult, including working households who may not be eligible for social housing.
The Ethical Landlords initiative explores how people who own residential investment properties can make a positive difference through the way they manage and rent their properties.
Developed by Faith Housing Australia in partnership with the NSW Ecumenical Council, the initiative encourages property owners, particularly those connected with faith communities, to consider practical ways they can put their values into action and contribute to more affordable and secure housing.
The initiative recognises that there are different ways to make a difference, and that even relatively small decisions can have a meaningful impact on the lives of tenants.
About the launch
Please join us at NSW Parliament House for the official launch of the Ethical Landlords initiative.
The launch marks an important step in sharing the initiative more widely, including through churches and congregations across NSW.
It is an opportunity to introduce the initiative, highlight the information and resources developed through the project, and encourage conversations about how we can all contribute to more affordable and secure rental housing.
The Ethical Landlords initiative has been made possible through the generous support of the Glenburnie Fund.
