Event description

Join us for a special guided visit to one of our most ecologically significant reserves in Western Australia: Eurardy Reserve.

Located just north of the WA wheatbelt and bordering Kalbarri National Park, Eurardy is a remarkable landscape undergoing a large-scale ecological transformation. Once cleared for farming, it is now home to one of Australia's most ambitious restoration projects, aiming to bring back diverse native vegetation and support a rich array of wildlife.

Our group will arrive mid-morning for a cuppa and a chat with reserve staff, who will tell the story of Eurardy Reserve to date, before we head out on a short walk through the recovering woodlands and shrublands of Eurardy. We’ll explore some of the native flora and visit some of the project sites to see recovery in action; learning about the science and strategies behind our revegetation efforts.

Eurardy is part of the globally recognised Southwest Australia Biodiversity Hotspot. You might spot iconic species such as the Western Grey Kangaroo, Mallee fowl, and an incredible diversity of native birds and raptors. We will also be very close to the regions well known wildflower season, although it should be said these can vary so keep your eyes peeled!

This is a unique opportunity to see conservation in action, connect with country that is being lovingly restored to health and spend time with our incredible community of supporters.

If you want to learn more about Eurardy Reserve, you’ll find a full explainer on our website here: https://www.bushheritage.org.au/places/eurardy
