Eurythmy, A Characterisation - schools
Event description
Blurb
Eurythmy, a characterisation. How can we glean what this subtle art form can reveal?
Have you ever wondered what it is that children and young people actually do in their eurythmy classes at school? Have you heard about this art form or encountered a few lessons but are inherently unsure of what it entails? If so, this talk is for you.
At its core, eurythmy is a movement art that has been described as ‘visible speech’ and ‘visible singing’, but what do those descriptions actually mean? What did Rudolf Steiner hope to give the world by making speech and singing visible, and why is it even more important to us now than it was 100 years ago?
Join me for an explorative talk that, through characterisation as opposed to definition, aims to unlock the mysteries of this contemporary art form. Hear about links between matter, emotions and thoughts, and how these links suggest what Steiner sometimes called a ‘supersensible’ reality.
