Testimonials:

"As a community volunteer, I found this course added to my capacity to support my local community in an ever-changing world. The course was practical and usable. I was able to take my learnings back to our hall committee. Due to this, our community have embarked on establishing an Emergency Action Plan for the Valley. Highly recommend for those who are involved in their community."

Mary-Lou (Goomburra Local Emergency Action Group; Goomburra Community Hall President)

"After attending the Evacuation Centre Training last year, it gives great insight into planning and preparing an appropriate space for those needing care, comfort and reassurance during a disaster.
Having a checklist on hand of requirements of food, toiletries & bedding. A child’s safe space, whilst may look like it's just keeping children busy, is also taking their minds off what is going on around them. By just having little things like books & colouring in, it caters for their mental health. These are all the sort of things that prior to the training, I wouldn’t have actually thought of.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to look further into this, especially for an area such as ours where natural disasters are seeming to be becoming more and more common unfortunately, between fire and floods."

Rachel (Bunnings Activities Organiser; Freestone Community Hall Member)
