Evening Bird Survey
Event description
Join us for an exciting evening bird count where we'll explore the local habitat of yaluk barring (formerly Sydenham) park, observe a variety of bird species, and contribute valuable data to ongoing conservation efforts. Whether you're a seasoned birdwatcher or a curious beginner, this event is an excellent opportunity to get outside, learn about local bird populations, and help Brimbank Council's conservation team track changes in our local ecosystems.
What to bring:
- comfortable outdoor clothing (must have closed-toe shoes and long pants)
- water bottle and snacks
- binoculars (if you have them)
- Smartphone with birdata app (not essential)
Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
Meet location: Meet our ranger in the Keilor Public Golf course carpark. You will then follow the ranger in your car through the private access gate to our works compound.
Accessibility: From the works compound carpark within the park, it is a 15 minute walk down an unsealed access road to the bird survey site near the river. The road is somewhat steep and uneven. If you have accessibility requirements, please email environment@brimbank.vic.gov.au
This event is supported by the Victorian Government through the Green Links Grant Program
