eventfull! night
Description
In december, eventfull! turned 3 years old!
It’s been a glorious digital journey and it is time to move from online to in person connection. To celebrate the project’s birthday and Glasgow’s DIY events scene and community initiatives, I invite you to the first ever eventfull! night - a joyous opportunity to gather and party together, filled with merry entertainment and soundtracked by local talent 🎈
Feb 12th, 7-11:30pm at The Flying Duck
As well as live music, we will be hosting a lino-printing workshop and a community area where everyone & anyone is welcome to promote their project or organisation as well as upcoming events. Feel free to bring flyers, posters, stickers, zines, etc. to display on our community table 🧡
Lineup:
Sophia Archontis
Sophia Archontis is a multimedia artist originally from Cyprus, now based in Glasgow, Scotland. Her work spans poetry, noise/sound art, photography, and music. She is also a resident at Radio Buena Vida, and is the host of the monthly night Electronic Experimentations at The Flying Duck. When DJing, her sets often feature a mixture of hip-hop, greek, middle eastern, and italian disco
slyn
slyn is a sound artist and live performer whose work sits at the intersection of experimental music, sound art, and marine ecology. Drawing on her background in marine biology and frustrations between the disconnect between academics and the arts, her practice aims to explore listening as both a scientific and emotional act. Her live performances and productions often use hydrophones, field recordings, vocals, and textured electronic composition, creating fluid soundscapes.
Megalichen
Megalichen is a 9-piece alternative folk group from Glasgow. Led by multi-instrumentalist frontwoman Gem, their music stems from relationships to the land, the natural world and emotional connection. Megalichen's music blends Gem's tender and emotive songwriting with humming woodwind arrangements, vocal harmonies and intricate rhythms.
Another People Place
Another People Place is a Glasgow-based party and soundsystem ran by Cameron, Finlay and Jack. Together they've been building speakers and running events at Civic House that focus on the exploration of sound whilst building community through dancing. Expect soulful, deep sounds from the likes of Detroit, Chicago, and further afield with a few fun selections thrown in for good measure.
