Kia ora and welcome to Every Bite - Marlborough edition!

Envirohub Marlborough is incredibly excited to bring Every Bite to the Marlborough region! This is a food waste prevention programme designed to help households cut back on their food waste, become more food resourceful, and save money in the process.

This four-week programme provides you with the tools, support and, most importantly, the motivation to monitor your food waste, as well as loads of tips, tricks, and tasty recipes for keeping your kai in date and on your plates. It’s super easy and with the average household throwing away more than $1300 worth of food a year, a few small tweaks to your daily habits can make a big difference to your household food waste and your grocery bill.

Remember! This is a “zero-judgement” programme. We are all at different stages on our journey to live more lightly.

What to expect:

The 4 week programme consists of two in-person sessions (one at the start and one at the end), with some simple strategies for you to try at home to help you reduce your food waste and save yourself time and money in the process!
At the first in-person session on Sunday 1 February (from 3.00pm - 5.00pm) at the Queen Charlotte College Technology Block, you'll be treated to some delicious kai, and do some hands-on cooking with local zero waste champion, Rae.
You’ll receive newsletters during the programme with updates, recipes and ideas to keep you on track and you’ll have access to a Facebook group where you can share your progress and ideas with other participants, ask questions, discuss challenges and celebrate your wins.
We’ll come back together on Sunday 1 March (from 3.00pm - 4.00pm) at the College to have a kōrero about your journey. Everybody who completes the programme will receive a free gift to help you continue your food efficiency journey.

The four week Every Bite programme costs just $10, with all proceeds going back into the community and the Waitohi Community Garden.
