Sustainable HB in partnership with Hapi is incredibly excited to bring Every Bite, a fun and engaging programme designed to help households become more food resourceful, cut back on food waste, and save money in the process.

This event is super special in that it is partnered with our favourite sponsor Hapi Organic Cafe in Napier.

On arrival you will construct your own DIY Buddha Bowls from a selection of common fridge ingredients & hot broth.

This will be followed by Kai Demos:

• Learn how to make broth with leftover bones, vegetables scraps and the last of the bag of rice!
• Make bliss balls out of the odds and ends in your pantry!
• Get some hot meal planning tips that’s make one meal stretch out for days and eliminates the problem of leftovers
• Play the game:“What can we make with what’s in the cupboard?”
• Hot prizes for the hottest team with the best ideas.
• Leave with recipes for good old fashioned home made comfort meals.

After this evening you can continue your learning journey online with a new easy action each week for four-weeks. You'll get all the tools, support, and motivation you need to monitor and reduce your food waste. We’ll share loads of tips, tricks, and tasty recipes to keep your kai fresh and on your plates. It’s super easy and can make a big difference to your grocery bill, considering the average household throws out more than $1500 worth of food a year!

Enjoy delicious kai prepared by Hapī chef Gretta Carney as she shares her industry tips for reducing spoilage, ideas for recipe substitutes, and much more. You'll go home with simple strategies to try at home to help reduce your food waste.

Throughout the 4-week programme, you'll receive newsletters with updates, recipes, and ideas to keep you on track. You'll also have access to a Facebook group where you can share your progress, ask questions, discuss challenges, and celebrate your wins with other participants.
