Welcome to Every Map Has a Scale, part of the 2026 Inspired Dance Film Festival.

Created by Scottish Dance Theatre, Every Map Has a Scale follows a performance-research project that takes dance out of the theatre and into the communities of Dundee and Angus. During the summer of 2023, dancers moved through streets, parks, libraries, shopping centres and museums, creating unexpected encounters between dance, people and place.

The film captures a playful and evolving exploration of how movement can transform familiar spaces, invite connection and change the way we experience the places around us.
