About A New Normal:

A New Normal provides a proven process for co-creating a profitable, actionable strategy to transition a city to self-sufficiency within 10 years. Rather than a stand-alone, top-down strategy to transform the city, the goal of A New Normal is to co-create the future self-sufficient reality and urban narrative of our cities.

A New Normal is designed to engage and familiarise the public with the transformation, inform politicians with public support, and enable businesses to provide solutions. The strategy is developed to meet the unique needs and challenges of the city using technological solutions successfully deployed in other cities around the world.

Once defined, the key strategic initiatives are briefed to the city’s top architects, designers and artists to develop culturally and environmentally relevant pilot projects that:

// Utilise technology that already exists

// Achieve impact at the metropolitan scale

// Address an existing problem (i.e. water, waste, energy)

// Pay for themselves within ten years, and

// Provide economic activity

These prototypes inform a series of working pilot projects established in partnership with communities and private landowners throughout the city, which can be scaled, replicated and multiplied.

Rather than hiding it away, we allow people to be emotionally connected to our infrastructure by co-creating a series of prototypical location-based experiences.
