Meet the Songwriters

Belle Melody
Local talent Belle is an emerging singer-songwriter from Dubbo NSW writing songs from the heart. With her melodic vocal runs and her acoustic company, she wavers the crowd with handwritten songs that pulls the hearts strings, striving to connect with her crowd. Belle’s influences come from modern pop artists, such as Laufey, Lizzy McAlpline and Olivia Rodrigo fused with well known female artists from decades beyond her such as Lesley Gore and more.

Symphony Rain
At just 18, Dunedoo singer songwriter Symphony Rain is already an accomplished performer. She has grown into a dynamic artist blending acoustic folk-rock, soul, and blues, and her style of playing and singing stemming from the sounds of Stevie Nicks to Whitney Houston, to bands like Heart and the Eagles. Symphony Rain is fast emerging as a soulful young talent.

Millie Mills
Millie Mills is a rising artist known for her honest songwriting and engaging live performances. She has released two original singles, Little Old Me and I Won't Think of You, and has won three awards for her original music. Millie has performed at numerous events, including major showcases such as the NRL All Stars. With a strong stage presence and an authentic sound, Millie Mills continues to make her mark as an exciting emerging artist.

Jessie May
Jessie May is a fiddle-playing singer-songwriter from Armidale NSW, blending classical roots with a country-folk heart. After studying at the Sydney Conservatorium, she took her music to Alice Springs— teaching classroom music, performing, hosting jams, forming a women’s choir, and recording her debut EP Petrichor. In 2023, Jessie performed at Wide Open Spaces Festival in Central Australia. A stint in Nashville deepened her knowledge in old time country music where she was mentored by fiddle players of the likes of Josie Toney, George Jackson and Amy Alvey. Currently based in the Central West, she is focusing on continuing to build her music career as a songwriter and fiddle player, performing locally and sharing raw, heartfelt songs about the people and places that shape her.

Rebel Black
Rebel Black is an emerging singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist based in Lightning Ridge, NSW. Drawing on 25 years of community and cultural development work, Rebel’s creative practice blends songwriting, storytelling, and social enterprise. Her music explores life on the opalfields, personal transformation, and the soul-deep language of the Outback. She regularly performs original works at Tin Camp Studios, a First Nations-led artist-run venue and at The Hungry Spirit, and at major regional festivals. Her work spans performance, event production, and place-based creative regeneration.
