This practical workshop presented by Wikimedia Australia introduces GLAM professionals to Wikipedia and other Wikimedia platforms, and how they can be used to support collections, research and public engagement.

When: Friday 13 February 2026, from 1.30-4.30pm

Where: Study Lab, Create Quarter, State Library Victoria, 328 Swanston Street, Melbourne

Participants will learn:

how Wikipedia (and other Wiki platforms) works, including editing, sourcing and governance
the role of Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata
how GLAM organisations can contribute
basic, hands-on editing skills.

No prior experience required – just curiosity and a willingness to get stuck in!
