Policing Beyond the Academy: Developing Professional Excellence is a full-day, 7-hour course designed for early-career officers and new supervisors who are ready to level up. Through scenario-based learning, interactive modules, and expert-led discussion, you will sharpen the judgment, decision-making, and professional standards that separate good officers from great ones.

Instructor

Don Moore brings 37 years of law enforcement experience to the front of the room, along with a background as a U.S. Marine Military Police Officer that shaped how he thinks about discipline, standards, and performance under pressure. Throughout his career he has served in operational, investigative, supervisory, and instructional roles including crisis intervention trainer, special reaction team trainer, field training officer, and department training coordinator.

A Missouri POST-certified instructor since 2003, Don is a subject matter expert in de-escalation, use of force decision-making, and implicit bias, with certifications from the Force Science Institute and the L.E.A.D.S Program. He holds advanced degrees in criminal justice and forensic psychology and founded SBCM Consulting Group to deliver high-impact training to law enforcement, public safety, and corporate audiences.

He has seen what separates officers who thrive from those who struggle, and he teaches accordingly.
