Join Industry Partners Australia for an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to Sealy of Australia, one of Australia's most recognised and trusted bedding manufacturers.

With a proud Australian manufacturing heritage dating back more than 100 years, Sealy combines traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing, advanced product design and world-class sleep technology.

From its Queensland operations, Sealy is part of a national manufacturing network producing mattresses for Australians using locally sourced materials and Australian-made components. With more than 700 employees nationally, five Australian manufacturing facilities and millions of Australians sleeping on a Sealy mattress, the business represents a significant success story in Australian manufacturing.

During this site visit, IPA members will gain an insight into the people, processes and technology behind the production of one of Australia's leading bedding brands. The visit will explore the journey from raw materials through to finished product, providing an opportunity to see how manufacturing excellence, quality, innovation, automation and skilled craftsmanship come together on the factory floor.

This is a valuable opportunity for manufacturing and operational leaders to exchange ideas, explore best practice and see firsthand how a century-old Australian business continues to evolve and innovate in a highly competitive market.

About SEALY:

Manufacturing & Supply Chain

·       Sealy mattresses are made in Australia using locally sourced materials.

·       Its patented coils use steel originating from South Australian iron ore, processed into wire in New South Wales, before being manufactured into coils at Sealy's Wacol, Queensland facility.

·       Other major inputs, including foam, timber and fabrics, are sourced from Australian suppliers.

·       The company combines significant manufacturing scale with a relatively hands-on production model rather than simply importing finished products.

Agenda:

· 7:30am: Meet at reception

· 7:45am: General business, safety, site rules, photo policy

· 8:00am: Sealy presentation. Who we are, our journey, successes, challenges etc.

· 8:45am: Around the room where everyone introduces themselves, their business and brief overview.

· 9:15am: Morning tea / snacks break

· 9:30am: Site tour

· 11:30am: Open discussions tour. Provide two positive areas to take back. Raise improvement opportunities. General discussion.

· 1:00pm: Sealy close out.

This event is ideal for Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Facilities, Quality or others with an interest in large scale manufacturing. 
As a member of IPA you can register up to 2 people, subject to availability, to attend this event.
This event is for IPA members only, there will be no public access to this event. 

Site requirements
All tour members to be dressed in full PPE – long sleeved shirts, trousers and steel-toe shoes.

When do I need to register by?
Registrations close 6 days prior to event date. 
Registrations are based on a "first come, first served" basis. 
There are no allocated seats with membership.
