Exeter Community Assembly
Event description
Come and join the Exeter Community Assembly on Wednesday 24th January from 5:30pm at Exeter Community Centre.
This is a new way for communities to get together and listen to each other about the issues that most concern you and discuss what we can do TOGETHER.
In a country that is increasingly divided, with a system of politics we feel excluded from, let’s work towards doing better together. Nothing to do with any political parties but definitely to do with having a party!
Decision making by community assemblies avoids corrupt politicians, big business lobbying, media misinformation, and the distortions created by party politics.
By the community for the community
This assembly for Exeter is a common sense, better way to make decisions together and govern ourselves. It is a totally independent way for local people to gather, listen to each other, and make plans for how to work towards improving the things that matter most in our local community.
There will be free snacks and drink, and a creche for the kids with an accredited child carer. The room is wheelchair accessible, and let us know if you will need any support to make the assembly accessible for you, e.g. British Sign Language signer.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 24th January from 5:30pm at Exeter Community Centre, 17 St David's Hill, Exeter, EX4 3RG.

About the Humanity Project
The Humanity Project is creating a series of self-organised and facilitated community conversations across the UK. We’re working towards 50 conversations across the country, feeding into a fully representative national event, Britain’s Popular Assembly, in Spring 2024. Our ambition is to create a new culture of decision-making in the lead up to the next General Election – and beyond! We want to see more local and regional assemblies through 2024 and 2025 as well as a sea change in politics at the local and national level.
