Exhibition Opening – Imants Tillers

Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery is delighted to present Remembering the unknown, an exhibition of new works by Imants Tillers.

Tillers' artistic practice involves layering imagery and text, drawn from a vast array of sources, creating a profound convergence of ideas and a rich tapestry of historical references. In this compelling series of 16 new artworks, each a testament to his enduring engagement with contemporary culture, Tillers uses a multiplicity of sources as stimulus, including historical photographs by Gerhard Richter, a lost painting of a Red River Gum by Arthur Streeton, and historical paintings by Latvian American visual artist Vija Celmins.
