4pm - 4:45pm, 7 August 2024, at Geraldton Regional Art Gallery, ages 18 plus

Join us at GRAG for an Exhibition-Ready Workshop focused on writing artist statements for your artwork.

Having trouble figuring out what you need to write for an artist statement? Come along to learn essential skills in writing these statements, and the importance of capturing the meaning of your work. Pick up a few tips to help you make the most of your artist statement.

This workshop will be a 45 minute workshop going over the basics of why it is important to clearly communicate your artist statement and what you need to consider when submitting these into art prizes and exhibitions.

  • Bring along an artist statement, accompanied by a photo of your work, and put theory into practice with some hands-on writing and reflection!

This project has been made possible through the support of the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries, and Lotterywest.

Please note that photographs and footage may be taken throughout this event. These will be used by the City for publicity and reporting in our publications, on our website and in social media.

You may transfer the ticket to someone else’s name if you cannot attend. Please reach out to us through the ‘contact host' link below with any queries. In the circumstance the event cannot go ahead, the event may be postponed to a new date, with all tickets being transferred to the new date.
