Background:

The New Zealand Ministry of Education uses Offsite Manufactured Buildings (OMBs) to provide schools with modern, adaptable learning spaces. These buildings are constructed offsite and quickly assembled on school grounds, minimizing disruption to daily operations. With lower maintenance costs and innovative designs that support contemporary teaching practices, OMBs are a practical solution for expanding educational infrastructure.

BUILTsmart Huntly plays a key role in supporting the New Zealand Ministry of Education’s use of Offsite Manufactured Buildings (OMBs) for schools. The company specializes in constructing transportable classrooms that are built in a controlled factory environment before being delivered to school sites. This approach significantly reduces construction time and costs compared to traditional on-site builds. BUILTsmart’s classrooms are designed to meet Ministry of Education standards, ensuring they are safe, warm, dry, and energy-efficient. The company has already installed classrooms in multiple schools across New Zealand, helping to address capacity challenges and provide modern learning spaces efficiently.
