    Event description

Walk with us as we explore the INCREDIBLE WORLD OF BATS. Our Grey-headed Flying-foxes have only been in Adelaide since 2010 so there is much for the public to learn about this vitally important keystone species. We are experienced Flying-fox carers, rescuers, rehabilitators and educators within Fauna Rescue of South Australia. Join us for an educational tour of the Adelaide Colony, in the heart of our beautiful Botanic Park. You will learn the facts and we can dispel the myths around these amazing but, very misunderstood animals.

After the tour, as the sun sets, we will watch the spectacular fly out as the Flying-foxes head out for their nighttime of foraging, planting seeds and pollinating - all in a night's work for them. You will be truly mesmerized.

We invite you to bring chairs, rugs and a picnic to truly enjoy the experience. We will be available throughout the entire evening to answer all of your questions.

All proceeds from this event goes toward upgrading our hand reared Flying-fox rehabilitation aviary. We (and the Bats) thank everyone for their kind donations.

MEETING PLACE IS ON THE BRIDGE  TOP LEFT OF PLANE TREE DRIVE JUST OUTSIDE ZOO ENTRANCE.
