The Bhagavad Gita is revered as a sacred scripture of Hinduism, and is considered one of the most important philosophical texts of the world. The teacher of the Bhagavad Gita is Krishna, who is revered by Hindus as a manifestation of the Lord Himself, and is referred to as divine one.

Throughout the day, we will explore the concepts in the Bhagavad Gita and how the concepts are as valid today as when it was written.

About Leanne Davis

Leanne has had a lifelong interest in Yoga that has involved many decades of practice and study. She has is particularly drawn to the philosophical, historic and cultural origins of Yoga in India and how the ancient teachings apply to the wellbeing of contemporary societies around the world. Her initial teacher training was with the Sivananda Yoga and Vedanta Academy in South India in 1988. Since the mid 1990s she has studied and taught Yoga, Yoga therapy and Vedic Chanting in the tradition of Krishnamacharya and TKV Desikachar with regular visits to Chennai. She is the founder of Viniyoga Australia. Leanne’s dedication to Yoga has lead her to work with Yoga professional associations to uphold solid educational guidelines and the values of Yoga as a profession. She is a past President and current Council of Advisor for Yoga Australia, Past President and Council of Teachers member for Yoga New Zealand, serves on the Certification Committee for International Association of Yoga Therapists and is on the Expert Advisory Panel for the Australian Government Natural therapies Review. Leanne lives in Brisbane , Australia where she is a Yoga teacher, Yoga teacher trainer, Yoga therapist, Vedic chanting teacher and registered acupuncturist.
