Explore to Express
Description
Explore to Express
A Process Over Performance Experience
We live in a world that constantly asks us to perform.
Perform at work.
Perform in relationships.
Perform on social media.
Perform in our own lives.
Over time, that constant pressure can disconnect us from something essential — our ability to slow down, feel clearly, and respond to life from a grounded internal place.
Explore to Express is a guided 2.5-hour experiential workshop designed to help you step out of performance mode and reconnect with your inner world.
Facilitated by Pera May and Courtney Reid, this immersive experience blends creative exploration, nervous system regulation, somatic practices, and reflective inquiry to help you understand and shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
Rather than analysing your experiences endlessly in your mind, this workshop uses creative embodiment tools to bring insight directly into the body.
Creativity here isn’t about artistic performance — it becomes a powerful bridge between the mind, body, and emotions, helping you explore what’s happening internally in a tangible and often surprising way.
Through this process, many participants discover that emotions they have been holding for years can begin to shift simply by slowing down, feeling, and expressing what has been sitting beneath the surface.
What We’ll Explore Together
Throughout the afternoon you’ll be guided through a series of experiences designed to help you move from performance back into process.
Together we’ll explore:
• creative and somatic practices that deepen self-awareness
• nervous system grounding tools that support emotional regulation
• ways to identify patterns or blocks in everyday life
• embodied practices that help emotions move rather than stay stuck
• reflective exercises that reconnect you with your own inner clarity
Pera will guide participants through her Process Over Performance framework, helping you understand how internal patterns develop and how they can shift when the nervous system feels safe enough to release them.
Courtney will support the group with somatic grounding practices, breathwork, and body awareness, helping participants reconnect with calm, presence, and internal stability.
Together these approaches create an experience that is both deeply reflective and surprisingly energising.
What Makes This Workshop Different
This is not a traditional talk-based workshop.
And it’s not art therapy.
Instead, creativity is used as an embodiment tool — a way to bring the inner world into awareness so it can be explored, understood, and gently transformed.
You don’t need to be artistic, experienced in breathwork, or familiar with personal development practices.
All that’s needed is curiosity.
The workshop is designed so that anyone — regardless of background — can engage with the process and take something meaningful away.
Many Participants Leave Feeling
• calmer and more grounded in their body
• emotionally moved in ways they didn’t expect
• clearer about patterns or dynamics in their life
• equipped with practical tools to support emotional regulation
• inspired to continue exploring their own personal growth
Most importantly, people often leave with the sense that something internally shifted — not through force, but through awareness and integration.
